M & M Jaycees to Hold Inaugural Classic Car Cruise

The M&M Jaycees are excited to announce a new event for 2009..  Saturday, August 22 the Jaycees will be holding “Thunder in the Hills Fall Cruise-in and Classic Car Cruise.”  A cruise-in from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. will be held to help gather cars and pick-up trucks for the classic car cruise which will depart at 6:00 p.m. from the boat ramp located across from the fairgrounds in McConnelsville.

The cruise route will head south on SR 376 along the Muskingum River towards Stockport. Turning right onto SR 266 it will continue past the historic Stockport Mill and through downtown Stockport..  On the way to SR 377 towards Pennsville cruisers will enjoy the scenic views that Morgan County has to offer. Once the cruise has reached SR 377 it will wind through Pennsville where cruisers will get to enjoy some curvy roads as they continue on towards SR78 and eventually back to the Boat Ramp in McConnelsville where music, food, a 50/50 raffle and some car talk await.

A local production company will also be filming the cruise from various vantage points throughout. A finalized DVD will be produced that will show the cars and trucks around town and on the streets. The DVD will be available for purchase upon request.  Spectators are encouraged to come out and check out this event and feel like they have stepped back in time as they see cars and trucks from yesterday, cruising the streets of the small towns once again.

“The main focus of this cruise is getting the cars out to the people that can't come to car shows and stand for hours. Instead they get to see the cars roar down the streets in their town,” commented a spokesperson.

Admission to the cruise-in and registration for the cruise are free. This event is NOT judged and is open to the public. So come out and enjoy an evening of classic cars from yesterday during “Thunder in the Hills Fall Cruise-In and Classic Car Cruise.”  For information call Derek Foreman at 304-544-1382 or Jason Huck at 740-683-1212 or email:jayceescruise@yahoo.com
